Learning at home
You can learn at home if you can’t get childcare. It’s not easy, but it can be done.
- Fitting study round caring for your children: you can study while the children are at school, or after they have gone to bed. Partners can help you by taking over when they can, to give you a couple of hours to work uninterrupted
- Online: as long as you have access to a computer, you can follow an online learning course at whatever time suits you
- Distance learning: this lets you work through a course in your own time, and often comes with access to a tutor by phone or online. This is a good way to remove time pressures - but you need a lot of self-discipline to get through the work.
