ILA Scotland is a Scottish Executive scheme for anyone 18 or over who lives in Scotland. The amount of funding you receive will depend on how much you earn.
There are two offers but no matter which account you are eligible for, the money is not a loan – so you won’t have to pay it back. All you have to do is make a minimum contribution of £10 towards each course.
ILA Scotland £100 offer
If you earn more than £18,000 a year you can apply for an individual learning account that will give you up to £100 a year to put towards a range of courses to help you develop the skills that many employers are now looking for.
ILA Scotland £200 offer
If you earn £18,000 a year or less, or are on benefits, you can apply for an individual learning account that will give you up to £200 a year towards learning something new. There’s a wide range of courses on offer and you can study with any approved ILA Scotland learning provider, including learning centres, local colleges, universities and private training companies.
You will be asked to provide evidence of your current income and / or benefits.
If you are on a low income or benefits and want to do a course at college or university, you may be eligible for a part-time fee-waiver. You will not be expected to make any minimum contribution to the costs of your course and can save your ILA entitlement for further study. For further information, click here.
