This is voluntary for people aged 50 or over, who have been claiming one or more of these benefits for 26 weeks or more:
- Jobseeker's Allowance
- Invalid Care Allowance
- National Insurance credits.
If your partner is also over 50, they are entitled to the ’50 plus’ package too.
This programme offers support from a personal adviser to help you find paid employment or to start your own business. Once you are in work, you may also get a training grant of up to £1,500 over two years to help develop the skills you will need to do your job, or to develop skills that will support future employment opportunities.
