The Training for Work Programme
Who is eligible?
You are eligible if:
- you are over 18 or older and claiming certain benefits for 26 weeks
- you are not on, or about to start, mandatory New Deal provision.
- Early entry is available to disadvantaged groups
What is it?
It’s a voluntary training programme to help unemployed and disadvantaged adults improve their work related skills and increase their chances of getting a job. Training for Work is managed and delivered by Skills Development Scotland, working closely with Jobcentre Plus.
You can receive a weekly allowance equal to your benefits plus £10 and help towards certain travel expenses.
