Frances Brown
Frances Brown
Years of drinking and getting in trouble with the law left 48-year-old Frances Brown feeling ‘homeless and hopeless’.
She felt she had hit rock bottom, but, with the help of social workers, discovered there were other options.
She got accommodation, stopped drinking and started a creative writing course. She got help with reading, writing and numbers and became involved in art and drama her confidence grew.
Frances met other people in similar situations and for the first time, she didn’t feel so alone. The fact that people believed in her helped Frances to move on with her life.
She volunteered as a receptionist at the YWCA before successfully applying for a job as a project administrator.
