Why learn?
Cecilia Titchmarsh
Cecilia Titchmarsh from West Calder always wanted to work as a classroom assistant. And volunteering has helped her realise her dream.
Cecilia volunteered for a number of years with the Ageing Well 50+ Project.
The former office worker organised weekly walks for the project which involved sourcing safe and suitable walking routes. "It boosted my confidence and I learned new skills," said Cecilia.
After completing a professional award in childcare, she now works voluntarily as a part-time classroom assistant in Edinburgh and she is hoping to find a permanent position soon.
