Martine McInnes, from Glasgow, left school with seven Standard Grades and went on to work as an office junior. When her son Patrick was born she had to give up her job.
Her health visitor told Martine about Milton Learning Centre, the learndirect scotland learning centre in her local community.
Martine started going to the centre to study computing when she was 19.
She said: “I had never considered going to a learning centre before until my health visitor told me about the services that were available. The great thing about the centre was its crèche, which let me to go and learn while Patrick was cared for by qualified staff. “
