Joanne Thomson
After 20 years in administration jobs and six years at home with her children, Joanne Thomson wanted to do something different.
She went to Fife Women’s Technology Centre, hoping to train as an electrician.
Joanne did their Women Into Technology course, which includes electronics and maths.
She raced through the one-year course in five months and completed Higher Communications, a computing qualification and a career and personal development programme.
Joanne is currently working on a high level computer networking course, which she has taken to with her customary hard work and determination. She is scheduled to complete it in December.
Joanne is the Career Changer of the Year 2006.
