Mary Page
Mary Page from Orkney, who is 77 years old, had been doing research for years but had always had problems with writing and spelling. She had so much to say but had trouble putting it down on paper.
When her research led her to websites she decided that she should learn how to use the internet and the word processor.
Discovering she was dyslexic helped Mary to realise why she had experienced difficulties before.
The support she gets now has helped her to achieve her life's ambition to write her autobiography.
Mary learned at her own pace, going over things again and again until she felt they had ‘stuck’. Once she got over the initial fear, her confidence grew and grew.
Now Mary’s only regret is that she wishes she had started learning sooner.
